Welcome to my Blog

Welcome to the Beginning of me trying to blog. I had a dear friend tell me she thought I should create one to share my ideas. This whole blogging thing is very new to me and so please stick with me as I try to figure this techno stuff out!  A little about myself and family to get started:  I am 32 years old and I am a full time working mom with a 12 year old Cody and Haley which will be 11 in March. I am married to my high school sweetheart Michael and we have done everything together through thick and thin and we somehow have continued to come out on top. Through our lives we have made some big sacrifices and had to make some really hard choices. Married at 18 and he joined the Army we left home and moved to Kansas. Over the next 8 years we managed to have 2 wonderful children move to Panama, Puerto Rico, back to Kansas, and then to TN. I chose to go home to stay with my parents while my husband served a tour in Iraq after 9/11 while I finished my Bachelors Degree in Human Services. The next 7 years was filled with a touch decision for Michael to exit the Army and us to try to "make it" in the "civilian" world. We bought our first home, changed jobs, I started graduate school, our kids started school, we changed jobs again and moved to Arizona. We are blessed to have good jobs, great friends and family, a fabulous church family!

It is now January 2011 and I have vowed for this to be my "funnest"  year yet. I say that because by nature I am a serious and focused person with goals and plans on how to achieve them!  I have always tried to save money and find ways to stretch our dollars but recently I have really started couponing and I am sure I will share my tips and tricks along the way. Fair warning: I am a bit OCD and over the top at times, I don't often rest (which usually results in tears and the occasional melt down) and I am a perfectionist to myself! With one tween in 7th grade and the other tween getting ready to enter middle school you can imagine that our house is very active, filled with drama, tears, video games, and lots of other tweens!

I hope you enjoy the journey with me and I hope to receive tips and tricks from all of you! If it wasn't for my friends and "mom" friends I am not sure how I would be surviving this journey!
