Organizing My Month Visually

Organizing My Month

I am a very visual person and I would like to think I could enter everything on my Droid and be done with it.

However, I need stuff staring me in the face so I can keep up with everything. Not too mention I like having the information where everyone else in the family can see it as well.

My Whiteboard Calendar is Perfect !!

When I get to about the third week of the month I will erase the month and start with the last week of the month and start the next month. That way I can see what is coming up.

The kids can see when I am going to be home or when I have a late week at work.  Plus since it is a dry erase and our lives are always changing it makes it super easy to make changes as needed.

I like to think that it also helps the hubby keep up with the kids’ appointments. I am not sure if he actually ever looks at the board but it makes me feel better knowing I put it out there. We display the calendar in our kitchen because that is the highest traffic area.

Do you have a system that helps your family stay on track for the month?

Let's Fall Into Organizing

Finding motivation to stay on track can be difficult at times. However, I decided that starting in October I would complete one task a day to fall back into the routine of organizing, cleaning, and staying on track.
Deciding our master closet was the worst of the worst, I decided to tackle this problem head on!

Horrible, I know!

Really it is down right embarrassing but with both of us working the closet tends to take the brunt. This is one reason I started here.

How many pairs of boots can one man own?

This suit case has been sitting here since we took a vacation back to TN in June!

I decided I needed a system that hopefully we both can maintain.

I found these little nifty containers at our $.99 Store.

They work perfect for sorting make-up and personal items.

After a few hours and many bags of trash. I was so happy I buckled down and took the time to clean up our closet.

I was so happy I could walk on the floor without stepping on something.

I have a little more work to do on straightening up my clothes. But I will put that on my calendar as I fall back into organizing during the month of October.
So what are you waiting for?  Make your list and get started!
What do you like to use to get organized?

Flip Flop Frugal Find!

getting to be HOT once again here in Southern AZ!
I will admit I can wear my flip flops all year long out here but when it is summer whew - I need my Flip-Flops!

I need to give a Big Thank you to my friend Mindy! As I was on the way to the mall she said oh don't forget about the dollar flip flops at Old Navy!

What?! $1.00 Flip Flops?

Well there was a limit to 5 pairs each and I had 3 kids and me, so you guessed it! We all bought 5 pairs and then divided them up when we got home.

A girl can never have too many pairs of flip flops.

I got a great idea from Raven over at A Mommas Desires and Pacifiers she found some adorable flip flops and they were super expensive!

She had a great idea to make our own!

I found these flip flops - which are super cute but run over $60! For Flip Flops?

We have been working on our own flip flops - I am pretty sure I only have $1.00 invested and I already had some of these crystals!

I took my white pair and decided to give it a little bling!

Love my glue gun! It is so good for so many things!

I decided to only bling out the top part since I figure I might end up popping the jewels off! I hope not we will see how it goes! They are super cute!

Remember my closet shoe organizer? Still using it and loving it with all my new flip flops in it!

Haley got in on the action as well! She took an older pair of flip flops and added some design to update the look! They turned out so cute!

Wishing I Could Go Pink!

I am a pink kind of girl! I can't help it - I love it, I love things that sparkle, I am just a GIRL!

I wish the slogan was going PINK instead of going GREEN but that is OK I will still do my darnest that I can to try to live a healthy life and leave as little of an impact on our Earth that I can. I know I am talking about Green a lot this week and my love for Shaklee alot but since we are leading into Earth Day I really wanted to provide you with all the great ideas that I try to follow.

Not everyone in our house believes in this as much as me but I am trying to make a small difference because I feel that is better than no difference.

Get Clean and Go Green!

Products I have used for years and after researching found out I might be getting the dirt out of my clothes but I was adding toxic chemicals to them.

This is what my laundry cleaning consists of now. Products that contain no phosphates and uses natural enzymes to clean. It is formulated for both regular and HE washing machines. This products is triple concentrated and the small bottle works for 32 loads!

These fabric sheets are unlike anything I have ever used. There are no harsh chemicals and they are vegetables based.  They are non-toxic, bio-degradable sheets, and during the drying cycle the sheets split in two pieces for evenly distribution. They are awesome!

For tough really dirty loads I will use the Nature Bright Laundry Booster. This is great for those really tough loads but the detergent alone still works wonders!

Shaklee doesn't test their products on animals in any way! Just another reason I love Shaklee products!

Don't pass up this Earth Day special Opportunity!  Please Visit My Shaklee Website for Lawson's Healthy Living to take advantage of this awesome opportunity! If you are interested in not just buying and using but being an Independent Distributor please feel free to Email Me and I can tell you all the great perks on top of using great products. No minimums EVER!

Tween Bathroom - Loving It!

We have been in our house for 3 1/2 years now and other than changing the shower curtain a few times the kids bathroom has been pretty much the same. One of the struggles we have is that both Cody and Haley share the same bathroom so it has to be a neutral type of theme. I try to get them to compromise but Cody finally said, "whatever Haley wants" I told him to quit giving me a classic man answer. Ended up he did let her have more her way but we still tried to incorporate colors he would like as well.

Before- I had bought the letters and we painted them. The pictures are pictures the kids painted on these canvas and I framed them with frames I already had and painted black.

Black, White, Red, and Gray

Pictures of our family that lives far away. We did the prints in black and white to add to the color scheme.

We started cleaning. Oh and by the way, I am using up the cleaning supplies I have because I think I am going to switch over to Shaklee. Never heard of it? Well I hadn't but check it out at my friend Erin's Blog.(and I have some great info on mine as well!) I am finding that I am loving it and I bought the Gold Premier but you can also just sign up to be a Member which right now with a $30.00 purchase the membership fee of $19.95  is waived with no minimum to ever buy again (but I know you will love these products!). You see that 409 in the background - it is NO more! As soon as I started using that stuff I started coughing again!

Yes, we can't help but join the bandwagon we do love the Zebra print!

The little things can really make the look. So we bought the lime green shower hooks. We went with lime green because Cody liked it and we wanted to try to compromise.

I bought the ribbon but decided on a DIY to transform the q-tip holder.

Changing up the red picture frame mat to be lime green. Haley worked on this project.

I am sure you are wondering what this is. Well seems my kids like millions so many others struggle to remember some basic hygiene tasks. So I used a white board marker to make a to-do list on the medicine cabinet mirror.

We used the same ribbon and glue gun to pretty up this candle (for appearances only).

Still working and figuring it all out.

We are getting there.

It's looking good and coming together (notice my cutie kitty!)

Daily items (the buckets are from the dollar bin at Target)

No more red!

Free Membership with a $30.00 purchase. No requirements ever! Check this out for your health, your family's, and keeping our Earth Green!

Let's Celebrate Earth day this month of April!
