Snack Ideas - Good for Ya AND Not so much!

Well I have two really easy snack ideas and one is yummy for your tummy! And one is great for you and tastes great too!

I want to give a shout out to my sis Brooke! If you haven't ever checked out her blog please go visit her HERE!!!

It's been a couple of weeks since her last post but she is busy busy like me!

Ok - well my oldest isn't a big fan of cake so when his birthday was coming up I geeze what am going to make. I was talking to my sis and said he loves brownies and cookies I will just make that. She gave me the great idea of doing both!

Take cookie dough from a tube and flatten on the bottom of the pan (I just got a disposable one to make it simple)

I then mixed up one batch of brownie mix and poured over the top.

It was so yummy!

I put it in the oven on the lowest temperature between the two which I do believe was the cookie dough. I set the timer for the shortest amount of time and just kept checking it. Doesn't it just look yummy? Well it tasted even better!  Mine did come out a little gooey but that is how we like it but I could have left in a little longer and it still would have been fine.

Super easy, super quick, and SUPER YUMMY!

Ok this snack or meal idea is SUPER easy too!

I just got a bag of romaine lettuce and put in a big bin. I cut up veggies and put them in the divided dish. I had made some fajita meat on the indoor grill and cut into cubes. I also did fry up some bacon while I was cutting up everything (ok so not so healthy but you can leave it out) and I just placed everything in a grab what ya want kind of dish.

It was super awesome everyone could make a salad or just have veggies to snack on and the mess was minimal and this was super healthy, easy, and it was a hit!

Being Prepared, Thinking Ahead, Saving LOTS of money!

I will say that I shop a LOT! Now that doesn't mean I buy a lot but I think you have to be out there to find the deals and snag the deals.

I do not buy stuff to randomly buy stuff because that does not save us any money. However, there are some things that I know we are going to use and I might as well stock up at a killer price while I can.

I always check out Target and Walmart several weeks after school starts pretty much around Labor Day. SCORE! See the notebooks? $.10 each at Target! The bigger 5 subject notebooks I was able to get for $1.37 each! Now one thing I know is my kids will need more throughout the year and if we still have some left next year even better!

We also needs lots of paper and folders. The folders I was able to get for $.05 each and the notebook paper for $.18 each!!

Ok so the pic is upside down but here are some pencil pouches that I picked up for $.75 each which were 75% off! I bought several because the kids need them and I also may give them to my Christmas Angels with some school supplies to go along with their cool gifts!

So anywho... to snag the deals you have to be out to grab the deals. So just pop in and out with an agenda to not buy anything that you won't use and to not buy anything that isn't clearance. It is surely a scoping trip! I try to sit on it a day or so to make sure I don't impulse buy but there are some times when I just have to snag the deals!

Kindness of Others

This past weekend really gave me that little nudge I needed to remind me that there are great people in this world and people that look out for others.

Friday I went to Target on my lunch break and I was just grabbing a few things and her over the loud speaker.... Shanna .... please come to the service desk.

Hhhmm.... Now I was thinking. Does anyone even know I am here? Did they really say my name? I slowly walked towards the service desk thinking what in the world do they want me for? Did they see me taking some of the peelie coupons off the boxes for my future shopping trips?  Surely there is no harm in that!?

Remember this really cute card of mine?

Well I guess I left it in my lap after I went through Sonic to get my  liquid heaven. I always have a habit of putting my card in before driving off but my hubby had called and I was just not in my routine.

Someone had found my card and returned it inside! Can you believe that?! I live in the number one State for identity theft and someone was nice enough to turn it in!

When I went to my car this is what I found.

I challenge you to do something nice for someone today!

A random act of kindness can really make someone smile. Please take a moment to do something nice. It doesn't have to be big but it is amazing knowing you made someone else smile.
